Sage Recovery—Intensive Outpatient Treatment in Austin, Texas

Hi Everyone. Since we wrapped up our discussion of what a Substance Use Disorder is, I wanted to follow up with an interesting conversation I had with Sapna Aggarwal at Sage Recovery in Austin, Texas. Sapna wanted to chat about their Intensive Outpatient Program, and let me know what resources Sage Recovery can provide to the Austin Community. Just so you all know, I’m not financially affiliated with Sage Recovery, but they do appear to be a great resource.

One of the things that Sapna discussed with me is there free 2-hour assessment process. Sitting down with a licensed clinician for two hours in not, generally speaking, an inexpensive undertaking. It could easily run you $300. So this is an amazing service for free. It’s also valuable because it allows for you to collaborate on a treatment plan that suits you and the severity of your use. You may not need Intensive Outpatient Treatment. You may need residential treatment, or you may need something less intensive. Sapna assured me that they’re interested in pairing people with the best treatment option for their situation, which, studies show, leads to the best possible outcomes. Additionally, Sage Recovery has sliding scale fees and some scholarships available, so if you feel like you need help, don’t let money scare you away from taking the first step.

Sage Recovery also offers free support groups open to the public including Dual Recovery Anonymous, Nurses in Recovery, and a Chronic Pain Support Group.

So if you know someone or you are someone who is wondering about your own substance use, check out Sage Recovery’s Website. I’m just glad to have another referral resource in the community. As a bonus, Sapna shared her list of alternatives to traditional 12-step Recovery Meetings in the community. Check it out below, and if you know of a meeting that we left out, please leave it in the comments below or drop me a line.
